The Prince of Peace

Dec 8, 2025

Over 700 years before it happened, the prophet Isaiah prophesied Christ’s miraculous birth, His future reign, and titles (Isaiah 9:6). One of the titles of Jesus Isaiah mentioned was “Prince of Peace.”

In honor of our soon-coming Lord, I wrote the following poem –

The Prince of Peace

by Don Manley

A long time ago in Bethlehem
Came the Prince of Peace, the Son of Man.
The prophet, foretelling that He would come,
Said a virgin woman would have a son.
Born in a manger, the virgin birth!
The Prince of Peace had come to this earth.

Without any sin, He lived His life.
He offered men peace, but they chose strife.
When He offered men peace, they turned Him down.
They gave Him a cross, instead of a crown.
But the Prince of Peace was willing to die.
He did it for sinners like you and I.

It was there on the cross that He paid for our sin,
And “by faith” He forgives us and gives peace within.
This world is filled with darkness and sin,
But one day He’s coming back again.
Look around you and you will see,
Trouble, and pain, and misery.

We’ve been a race of rebels from the very start.
Man cannot have peace when there’s war within his heart.
The masses are stuck in the muck and the mire.
Sin is raging like an out-of-control fire.

The Prince of Peace is coming! We are running out of time!
The Prince of Peace is coming! I can see Him in my mind.

The world is getting darker. Great are the sins of man.
The Prince of Peace is coming! He told us of His plan.

When He returns there will be a place
For every saved member of our race.
He will do away with wickedness.
Man will enter an age of rest.

“No more war? What will it be?”
Peace on earth from sea to sea.
When Jesus comes all wars will cease,
For Jesus is the Prince of Peace.

True, lasting peace can only be found in a personal relationship with Jesus, the Prince of Peace. There, you’ll find a brief video in which I clearly explain how you can have a personal relationship with Jesus and experience His peace for the rest of your life.
