What Is The Gospel?
What is the GOSPEL?
Many people, both Christians and non-Christians, have asked themselves that question. Often, they will have a vague idea of what the gospel is, but what they want is a clear, detailed answer.
Well, the Word of God has that clear, detailed answer for us. It is found in 1 Corinthians 15:1-8. >>>
Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand, 2 by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you—unless you believed in vain.3 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, 4 and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures…
Here are the 4 parts in THAT PASSAGE
that make up the GOSPEL. >>>
JESUS CHRIST DIED FOR OUR SINS.
“For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received:
that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures…” (v. 3).
JESUS WAS BURIED.
“…and that He was buried…” (v. 4).
JESUS ROSE AGAIN THREE DAYS LATER.
“…and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures…” (v. 4).
WHEN A PERSON TRULY BELIEVES…
…all three parts of the gospel listed previously,
God says that person is saved.
“…by which also you are saved…” (v. 2).
A NOTE FROM DON:
I am so glad that someone shared the gospel with me. I believed in Christ and was saved the first time I heard the gospel.
